Volunteer

The following are some Magazine Drive jobs where volunteers are needed; especially leadership roles. If interested please contact Jody or call her for more information.

Assembly Helper

1 or 2 individuals to assist with students and props in the opening and closing magazine assemblies. 10 hrs or so and needs to be available during assemblies and before or after school on the assembly days.

Decorations

4 or 5 individuals to assist in decorating the hallways the last week of August, In addition 2 or 3 individuals are needed mostly Monday-Tuesdays during the Drive to 1) update visual displays on the main hallway 2) post and take down signs for turn in days and other related events 3) decorate outside entrances on turn in days (early morning hours), and 4) assist in coming up with props for the student rallies.

Order Processors

12-18 volunteers meet at the Parish Center on Tuesday mornings on Turn-in Days after drop off to tally money and sales. Bring your calculator if you have one. This is a great way to see old friends and meet some new ones.

Prizes

6 or 7 individuals are needed for prize packaging and distribution occurs one morning the last week of the Drive.

Parish Sales Coordinator

Coordinate students to sell magazines after mass during the drive OR host a coffee and donuts.

Family Fun Center Coordinator

Coordinate all aspects of this event of 140 students and parent chaperones on the 3 hour Family Fun Center event. This involves coordinating 3 buses, working with Fun Center, getting permission slips, assigning chaperones to students, and making sure everyone gets to the Fun Center and back to school again. This is mostly at-home work and then just a one-day event. Spreadsheet work is needed for this. 15-20 hours work in a short period of time!

Leadership!

A big job but so rewarding! In addition to making sure the above gets completed this person would needs to coordinate communications (prize sheets, website updates, FCE, Parish announcements, staff communications); works with Principal on theme promotion; Work with Magazine Representative for prizes and direction; coordinates the opening and closing student rallies (come up with games, skits, music to motivate); summarizes finances (excel); tests website of online sales; work with prize coordinator to ensure prize program within budget; and troubleshoots as necessary. Work with current leader over the next year for ultimate transition!
